Today, 31 December, in “Culture Vultures”, we, Florence & Bettina, will be bidding farewell to 2025 – sharing how we plan to spend those last precious hours of the year and how we will open the door to 2026 with intention, joy and a touch of tradition.
For us, there will be moments of togetherness around a meal, a few games, pause for reflection – and without a doubt, a lot of dancing to carry us across the threshold of the New Year.
What are you going to do to say goodbye to 2025 – and to welcome 2026?
- Will you eat twelve raisins – and then step from the sofa (Portuguese tradition)?
- Will you waltz into the New Year with the “Blue Danube” (Austrian tradition)?
- Will you exchange good-luck charms (German tradition)?
- Will you sing “Auld Lang Syne” hand-in-hand (British tradition)?
- Will you wish “Bonne année!” throughout the entire month of January (French tradition)
Whatever ritual, moment or spark of joy marks your transition into the New Year – may it bring you happiness, health and a sense of renewal. May 2026 become the year you fill with everything you hope for.
